2. It loads too slowly

4. It's not clear what you do, or who it's for

A visitor decides in a few seconds whether they're in the right place. If your homepage leads with a vague slogan instead of plainly saying what you do, who you help and where, people bounce. Say it in plain language at the very top: "Emergency plumbing in Phoenix" beats "Delivering excellence since 2005" every time. Clarity wins over clever.

5. It's too hard to contact you

You'd be surprised how many sites bury the phone number or hide the contact form three clicks deep. Every extra step loses people. Your phone number should be tappable on every page, a short contact form should be easy to reach, and the next step should be obvious. Make getting in touch the easiest thing on the whole site.

6. It doesn't give people a reason to trust you

People buy from businesses that feel legitimate. A dated design, no reviews, no photos of real work and no proof quietly send visitors to a competitor who looks more established. Genuine reviews, real photos, clear guarantees and a clean modern design do the convincing for you.
